Snapshots
A copy of every record table, taken by itself before anything risky and by hand whenever you like, restored in one click. The way back when an import, an API client or a mistake changes more than it should.
When one is taken
- Before the first API write of a key in each hour.
- Before a pay run approval, before an import, before a restore.
- By hand on Settings › Snapshots, any time.
What it holds
People, history, documents (the index; files stay encrypted where they are), time off, shifts, reviews, onboarding, permits, rules, pay runs and lines, automations, connections, webhooks, accountants, leaving. Thirty days and the last fifty are kept.
Restoring
- Open Settings › Snapshots, pick the snapshot, restore.
- A snapshot of the current state is taken first, so a restore can itself be undone.
- The restore is logged with who and when, and webhooks hear snapshot.restored.
API
GET /snapshots, POST /snapshots, POST /snapshots/{id}/restore.
