Rules and rates
Every figure the suite calculates with, in one table: the value, where it comes from, since when, and who confirmed it.
The principle
No statutory figure is ever a number typed into the code. Income tax, pension shares, paid and unpaid leave, public holidays, overtime, probation and notice periods are rows with a source link, a date they apply from and the name of the person who confirmed them. Until a row is confirmed, every screen that uses it shows the figure in brackets and warns.
How a figure gets confirmed
- A named accountant or lawyer opens the source text.
- They type the value and the date it applies from.
- They sign it with their passkey. Their name stays on the row.
- A law watch hashes the source every hour. A change raises a review; it never edits a value.
History
A rate that changes gets a new row with a new date. Past pay runs always recompute with the value that applied then.
Status
The table and the law watch exist for work permits on findjobs today; the pay, leave and holiday rows arrive with the pay run, all unconfirmed until a named person confirms them.
